Robot Operations Center

WITH ROC, ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND TELEOPERATION, WE ARE PUSHING THE BOUNDARIES OF FUTURE AUTOMATION
About the concept

Until now, tasks that could not be fully automated in a process-safe manner can be solved with ROC by combining teleoperation and artificial intelligence. This innovation increases the automation potential of ek robotics' automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and forklift robotics in the long term.

ROC achieves a further step towards process-safe automation of tasks that transport robots have not yet been able to learn and perform themselves. The primary goal is to bring the capability spectrum of AGVs into line with those of human operators in order to realize even greater automation potential of forklift robotics. This requires self-learning systems while maintaining high process reliability. The use of teleoperation and forklift remote control in borderline areas of automation ensures the necessary process reliability for the user and at the same time forms the data basis for the functions of complete automation to be learned.

In the command center, the ROC, a teleoperator is surrounded by several monitors and controls the environment and monitoring system of the transport robot . The forklift remote control is done via steering wheel, pedals and joysticks.

This allows fast remote access to the transport robots via the teleoperator in very large AGV systems without having to leave the workstation in the command center. For example, automated outdoor vehicles can be controlled manually from the ROC in the event of difficult weather conditions or disruptions caused by plant traffic. At the same time, the transport robots learn from the actions of the teleoperator, develop new capabilities and increase the overall automation potential.
