Due to the wide and diverse range of products offered by the furniture manufacturer, no two loads are the same. With the aim of achieving greater flexibility, future-proofing and efficiency, the company decided to carry out a pilot project with driverless transport vehicles from ek robotics. The first AGV with two vehicles is to be used within the warehouse and will be responsible for the material flows between several storage areas.
The automation project at the furniture manufacturer shows that an automated guided vehicle system is an efficient and future-proof solution for overcoming a wide range of challenges in intralogistics. Even in the case of complex, time-critical processes and limited space, the use of driverless transport vehicles offers a decisive key to making internal material flow more economical in the long term. In addition, the application proves that automated transport solutions not only lead to cost reduction and increased efficiency, but can also be easily integrated into existing racking applications.
