The automation project at GGP Media GmbH in Pößneck shows that AGVs are an efficient and future-proof solution for meeting the challenges of intralogistics. ek robotics developed a concept for the requirements of GGP Media that uses three driverless transport vehicles from the modular VARIO MOVE series. These vehicles are equipped with shortened forks and counterweights to pick up the finished goods on Euro pallets and transport them safely to the transfer stations of the high-bay rack.
Whether high-gloss or matt: before printed products are created, rolls of paper weighing tons have to be moved and stored. These can be master rolls weighing up to 32.000 kg or large paper rolls for newspaper printing.

One example is the transport of parent rolls or printing cylinders with loads of up to 32,000 kg in the paper industry. The driverless transport vehicles are highly dynamic and maneuverable. This is because even when producing larger rolls, there is little space available for intralogistics.
