For this customised transport solution, our experts have equipped three transport robots from the VARIO MOVE series with active hold-down devices in addition to their self-supporting forks. 

This modification enables the vehicles to securely fix stacked plastic canisters with a height of up to 2.8 metres and transport them reliably from the production machines to the winders. During 3-shift operation, the transport robots move loads of up to 175 kg, which are stacked on Euro, industrial or Secupal pallets as well as CP1 and CP3 pallets. 

Wiegand-Glas, a company with 450 years of glassmaking tradition, is a leading supplier of packaging solutions made of glass and PET. To optimize its intralogistics, the company relies on automated guided vehicles (AGVs), which have been in use for more than two decades in collaboration with ek robotics. The third AGV system within the group of companies was recently put into operation in Schleusingen in Thuringia in June 2020.

The driverless transport vehicles used in Schleusingen come from the CUSTOM MOVE series. These vehicles are specially designed for the requirements of the packaging and beverage industry.
