ek robotics moves into new headquarters

In November 2023, the official handover of the keys to ek robotics GmbH's new headquarters in Hamburg's Veddel district took place. With the move into the new, Hanseatic innovation and production center, the leading manufacturer and system integrator of innovative high-tech transport robotics is now one of Hamburg's industrial companies.

The new headquarters of ek robotics GmbH is located around one kilometer from Hamburg's future landmark, the Elbtower. After more than 20 years near the gates of Hamburg, in the Nenndorf district of Rosengarten in Lower Saxony, ek robotics is relocating its company headquarters to the Veddel district of Hamburg. The new building at Oberwerder Damm 11 has five floors, offers space for more than 400 experts and includes approx. 7,000 square meters of office space as well as an assembly, testing and development hall of approx. 3,000 square meters.

"With the new headquarters, we can optimally respond to our company's growth and react to the global automation trend. With the intelligent office concept and the excellent connection to Hamburg's infrastructure, we can now offer our employees the best possible working and environmental conditions. With the move, we have laid the foundations for becoming one of the most attractive employers in the industry," says Andreas J. Böttner, Managing Director of ek robotics. In the assembly, testing and development hall, a wide variety of transport robots master industrial-style test courses and are shipped from there to global customers from a wide range of industries.

With its 60 years of expertise, the hamburg-based company focuses on the development of automated transport solutions and implements optimal material flows for sustainably efficient intralogistics for every company size and industry. "The market for transport robotics is growing - and we have been helping to shape it for decades. I am delighted that we are now able to offer our extensive portfolio of solutions and services from Hamburg to the whole world," says Böttner.

The innovation and production center in Hamburg replaces the previous company headquarters in Nenndorf, Rosengarten and is one of five locations of the group of companies alongside Reutlingen (Germany), Milan (Italy), Prague (Czech Republic) and Buckingham (UK).
