About one kilometer away from the future Hamburg landmark, the Elbtower, the topping-out ceremony of the new ek robotics headquarters at Oberwerder Damm in the Veddel district took place on the afternoon of January 26, 2023. The building ensemble from the developer Family Value GmbH, which ek robotics will soon move into on Peute, comprises a total of 10,000 square meters of floor space and consists of an L-shaped office complex with approximately 7,000 square meters of space on five floors, as well as an approximately 3,000 square meter assembly, test and development hall. The new building will provide space for at least 400 transport robotics experts.
"With the intelligent room concept, the attractive and modern equipment as well as a very good connection to the Hamburg infrastructure, we will offer our employees the best possible working and environmental conditions in the future. Our claim and goal is to be counted among the most attractive employers in the industry," says Andreas Böttner, CEO of ek robotics. AGV manufacturer ek robotics is one of the leading manufacturers of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) and system integrator of innovative high-tech transport robotics for production and warehouse logistics. Due to the increasing automation trend worldwide, the ek robotics group of companies has also grown: "The transport robotics market is growing and we are growing with it. With our new and significantly larger headquarters, we want to meet this growth in an appropriate way and support our further internationalization up to the expansion of a global presence," says Andreas Böttner. The new headquarters in Hamburg-Veddel replaces the previous company headquarters in Rosengarten and is one of six locations of the transport robotics specialist in addition to Reutlingen (Germany), Milan (Italy), Prague (Czech Republic), Buckingham (UK) and from February 2023 Budapest (Hungary).
